Aurora Borealis

Not that they didn’t have their place before, but the 21st Century at Walt Disney World has focused heavily on Princesses… Princesses and Fairies… Princesses and Fairies and Pirates. Growing up, finding a Princess for a Character Meet & Greet was a rarity. In the Magic Kingdom, you would most often run into Alice… who is not a Princess. In 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (pre-spa) you could dine with Mary Poppins… who is not a princess. Snow White & Cinderella were most often found in the ‘What Time is the 3 o’clock Parade’ Parade.

Nowadays, you can find a Princess around the World Showcase (most often Snow White in Germany, Jasmine in Morocco). Sista Dillo dined with the Princesses in Cinderella’s Castle earlier this year. But, what we will answer in this blog is – who is Brother Dillo’s (as in Sibling Brother Dillo’s) favorite Disney Princess.

I’ll tell you.

Princess Aurora.

Finding Sleeping Beauty in Disney’s Parks growing up was the ultimate rarity. Reason most often heard – she’s sleeping. And, certainly, when you think of ‘Sleeping Beauty’  the first thing that comes to mind most often is Maleficent – now the spectacle of Fantasmic!

I still find Aurora to be the rare gem of not just Princess meet and greets, but all Character meet and greets. So, when you do, oh man! Shut the door! A diamond in the rough! Or, rather, a diamond amongst diamonds.

I have seen a Green Army Man from ‘Toy Story’ wait in line for an autograph and pic.
