These days, my trips to the Diz are brisk, quick, and often find themselves in EPCOT or the Studios. My days are sometimes spent just taking it all in – the view, the sounds, the music, the smells – if lines are too long.
My time in the Magic Kingdom the last several years has been brief. Too brief. But, the one thing I still do when I’m there is get myself a Pineapple Dole Whip, sit in front of the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse and just enjoy it all.
If you haven’t had the Pineapple Dole Whip, do yourself a favor… It’s the most refreshing thing you’ll ever come across. You can get it swirled with vanilla or chocolate if you so desire, but I don’t find it necessary.
Here in NYC, Pineapple Dole Whip is hard to come by. Heck, Dole Whip is hard to come by. I’ve seen orange Dole Whip way upstate at a place called Bev’s in Oswego, NY – but it’s no Pineapple.
Over Labor Day Weekend, I was in Saratoga Springs where a place called Humpty Dumpty’s was selling off the rest of their ice cream before closing.
They had Pineapple Dole Whip.
It was as if I was in Adventureland all over again.
